How it all
began - "The Gift" has it's origins
in Proverbs 24:11 "If you see the innocent being
dragged to death, you had better do something," (paraphrase mine).
My response was, "OK,
God, but you need to show me what to do." His response came through
a mentor, who suggested that I do a painting of the hands of God holding a
baby inside the womb. I obtained permission to use the baby image
from Lennart Nilsson's agent. He is a fantastic photographer who has
taken many, many pictures from conception through birth. They are
pieces of art in themselves. The copyright granted me permission to
use the image for the original painting, as well as prints. Click

Continuing
the mission
- As "The Gift" became
better known, it was a natural next step to see what could be done about
creating billboards and other products from it. I contacted Heritage
House and they were extremely interested in using it for their product
lines. But, when I contacted Lennart Nilsson's agent to see if I
could pursue further products, they responded that they had never allowed
any merchandise to be created from any of his photographs. As a
result, I decided to create a new image, "The Work of His Hands."
This painting would have the same message, but I wouldn't have to worry about other
people's copyrights. Heritage House has taken this image and
created many different products from it. To see what they've made,

Since that time, "The Work of
His Hands" has been used by over 150 organizations, groups, and
individuals nationally and internationally. Heritage House has
created numerous
products and it is one of their best selling images. It's
definitely all God's doing. If He left it up to me, the image
probably would never have been done in the first place. It's pretty
humbling to see what He has done with a person who is of no real
consequence, just a regular guy.
